The presence of chromium in industrial effluents has become a significant global problem. Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) is highly toxic to humans and animals due to its ability to generate reactive oxygen species in cells. In contrast, the trivalent state of chromium (Cr(III)) is less toxic and serves as an essential trace element. Industries such as electroplating, tannery, dyeing, and others release their effluents into water bodies, allowing hexavalent chromium to enter the food chain and ultimately reach humans in a biomagnified form. we harness chromium electro-plating effluent and transform it into valuable chromium oxide nanoparticles using our cutting-edge patented nanotechnology expertise, achieving multiple objectives in one stroke. This method has been patented in Iran and the product of this process (Nano-Cr2O3) has succeeded in obtaining nanoscale approval from Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council. This product has a knowledge-based grade from the Scientific Vice President of Iran.
